Dutch Village Road closed after MVC causes natural gas leak

Update #2: Police are no longer on scene in the area of 3501 Dutch Village Road. Normal traffic flow has resumed. Repair crews remain on scene for completion of work.

Halifax Regional Police are currently on scene in the area of 3501 Dutch Village Road, for a single vehicle motor vehicle collision causing property damage to a gas line. Dutch Village Road between Deal Street and Westerwald Street is currently closed to all traffic, while officers and assisting agencies are in the area completing the initial investigation and making necessary repairs. There are no reported injuries and no indications of any immediate danger to residents in the affected area.

The incident remains under investigation and police are asking anyone with information about this incident to call 902-490-5016.
