Halifax District RCMP is reminding motorists to protect their vehicles by cleaning valuables out and locking vehicles up.
Between Sunday night and Monday morning, RCMP responded to ten complaints of entry to unlocked vehicles and attempted entry to locked vehicles in Sackville. Thieves stole items including sunglasses, loose change and accessories from the unlocked vehicles.
“The more you do to deter thieves, the better,” says Cpl. Dal Hutchinson, Halifax District RCMP. “You can make your vehicle less attractive by cleaning out valuables and locking it up.”
RCMP asks you to double-check that your vehicle is locked and report suspicious activity to police.
Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to call Halifax District RCMP at 902-490-5020 or Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS. The public can also get in touch with Crime Stoppers by texting TIP202 and a message to CRIMES (274637) or by Secure Web Tips at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca.
