Provincial: RCMP investigate report of missing persons and collision

  March 1, 2012, Wedgeport, Nova Scotia...At approximately 3:10 p.m. yesterday afternoon, RCMP in Yarmouth responded to a report of two missing women in Wedgeport. RCMP initiated a missing person’s investigation and shortly after, a 911 call was received from one of the missing women indicating they had been taken against their will.

 

March 1, 2012, Wedgeport, Nova Scotia…At approximately 3:10 p.m. yesterday afternoon, RCMP in Yarmouth responded to a report of two missing women in Wedgeport. RCMP initiated a missing person’s investigation and shortly after, a 911 call was received from one of the missing women indicating they had been taken against their will.
 
At approximately 4:00 p.m., RCMP responded to a scene of a three-vehicle collision at the intersection of Commercial Street and Middle Dyke Road in New Minas. The missing women were located at the scene. The driver of the vehicle fled on foot and was later located two kilometers away in the Kentville area suffering from stab wounds. He was transported to Annapolis Valley Regional Hospital.
 
This is not a random incident and the circumstances surrounding the abduction and collision are being investigated by the RCMP Southwest Nova Major Crime Unit.
