Blue Nose Marathon – Street closures, parking impacts, and transit disruptions

Thursday, May 16, 2024 (Halifax, N.S.) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents to expect street closures, parking impacts and transit disruptions on Saturday, May 18 and Sunday, May 19 as a result of the Blue Nose Marathon.

A full list of street closures can be found on the Blue Nose Marathon website<bluenosemarathon.com/uncategorized/streetclosures/>. Halifax Regional Police will allow traffic to pass through select areas when participants are not on the street.
Parking bans will also be in effect in several areas, with a full list available online.<bluenosemarathon.com/uncategorized/parking-bans/>

To help reduce traffic and support marathon participants, Halifax Transit is pleased to offer free conventional bus and ferry service for those involved. Volunteers with credentials and participants with their race bib can ride free on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Every year, the Blue Nose Marathon brings out thousands of participants and spectators. Motorists are advised to drive carefully, allow for extra travel time and to keep an eye out for people on the streets.
