Municipal offices delay opening and African Heritage Month flag raising cancelled
Sunday, Jan. 28, 2024 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that all municipal offices, including 311 Customer Contact Centres, will be delaying opening tomorrow until 10 a.m.
Employees who can work from home are being asked to do so.
All essential services, including winter operations and Halifax Transit, are maintaining operations.
Safety is the municipality’s top priority. Delaying opening will facilitate clearing efforts by crews and ensure a safer commute for our employees and residents.
African Heritage Month Flag Raising
The municipality is also advising residents that the African Heritage Month<www.halifax.ca/about-halifax/diversity-inclusion/african-nova-scotian-affairs/african-heritage-month> flag raising, originally scheduled for 10 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 29 at Grand Parade has been cancelled due to the forecasted weather.
