Location: Southbound ramp from Barrington Street to Hollis Street in the Cogswell District (see attached map)

Work details: The southbound ramp from Barrington Street to Hollis Street will be permanently closed. This work is in preparation of a by-pass road<www.halifax.ca/about-halifax/regional-community-planning/construction-projects/cogswell-district-redevelopment-2> in support of the Cogswell District project<www.halifax.ca/about-halifax/regional-community-planning/construction-projects/cogswell-district-redevelopment>. The by-pass road<www.halifax.ca/about-halifax/regional-community-planning/construction-projects/cogswell-district-redevelopment-2> is expected to be in place in Fall 2022.
Traffic impact: Motorists will maintain southbound access via Barrington Street. Northbound traffic on Barrington Street can access Hollis Street via Upper Water Street. The southbound ramp sidewalk will be closed and pedestrian traffic will be directed southbound on Barrington Street to Duke Street. The parking spaces on the ramp will be eliminated. Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternative routes.
