Work details: This closure is to allow for the installation of asphalt in front of the Marriott Hotel. This work is in support of the Cogswell District projecthalifax.ca/cogswell>.
Traffic impact: Residents will be directed around the construction area by signs and traffic control personnel. A marked detour will be in place from Upper Water and Duke streets to Upper Water and Barrington streets, near the Baton Rouge restaurant.
Northbound vehicular traffic on Upper Water Street will be detoured west at Duke Street to Barrington Street. Transport trucks travelling northbound will detour at Lower Water Street moving west on Morris Street.
The sidewalk and bike lane along Upper Water Street will remain open for pedestrians and cyclists. Access to businesses will be maintained. Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternative routes.
