Location: Jubilee Road bridge, with the closure occurring between Bloomingdale Terrace and Fairfield Street
Date: Beginning mid-April 2023, with confirmed start date of closure to be announced in the coming weeks.
Time: 24/7 from mid-April through to approximately late October.
Work details: The road closure is necessary to complete rehabilitation, repairs, and safety improvements to the aging CN bridge on Jubilee Road. This work will include the rehabilitation of the arch bridge structure, as well as the full replacement of the paved surface, railing and the sidewalks, as well as water and sewer work by Halifax Water.
Traffic impact: The nature of the work requires that a small section of Jubilee Road be closed to all vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians. Detour signage will be in place for all users for the duration of the closure.
Local access, including to the St Mary’s Boat Club will be maintained from Quinpool Road via Prince Arthur Street.
The municipality and CN are collaborating to complete the required work in a safe and timely manner, while also minimizing the inconvenience for residents and commuters.
Your patience is appreciated while this work is underway.
