Public Advisory: Halifax District RCMP warns public about recent rash of Break and Enters

Halifax District RCMP would like to advise the public of a recent crime trend in our area.

Since July 1, there have been 12 incidents where a home has been broken into in areas of Halifax Regional Municipality policed by the RCMP. In the past two weeks, there have been four cases where a screen was cut to allow the suspects to gain entry to the home.

Residents are reminded to ensure their homes are properly secured when left unattended. With the recent hot weather it may be tempting to leave doors and windows open, but this can leave your home vulnerable to thieves.

Halifax District RCMP encourages the public to report suspicious activity to the police by calling 902-490-5020Should you wish to remain anonymous, citizens can also call Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), text TIP202 + your message to ‘CRIMES’ (274637) or by secure online tips atwww.crimestoppers.ns.ca.
