Public engagement session on proposed South Park Street bicycle lane improvements

Friday, Jan. 27, 2017 (Halifax, NS) – Residents are invited to attend a public engagement session next week regarding proposed South Park Street bicycle lane improvements, which are designed to improve safety and bicycle route continuity.

The public session will provide an opportunity to share work that has been completed on three options designed to improve the existing South Park Street bicycle lanes currently located between Sackville Street and Morris Street, and extend them south to Inglis Street. Parking-protected bicycle lanes and an off-street option have also been explored further as a result of feedback received during a previous public consultation held in April 2016.

Residents are invited to attend the engagement session to learn more about the proposed bicycle lane improvements and provide feedback, as follows:

When: Tuesday, Jan. 31, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. (presentation at 7 p.m.)

Where: Halifax Central Library, Lindsay Children’s Room, 5440 Spring Garden Road, Halifax

The South Park Street bicycle lane improvements and extension is one of a number of bicycle infrastructure related projects identified in the 2014 Active Transportation Priorities Plan.
