Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is inviting residents to attend a public engagement session this week as part of a planning process to design and implement walking and cycling enhancements for the Forest Hills Parkway.
The Forest Hills Parkway is a key collector road in Cole Harbour, which connects Main Street to Cole Harbour Road and creates linkages from adjacent neighbourhoods. It also features popular destinations such as Cole Harbour Place, Cole Harbour High School, playing fields, churches and commercial areas at either end.
Given that this road is scheduled for regular asphalt resurfacing in the next couple of years, the municipality is looking at how to transform the road into a more complete street, by making walking and cycling easier, safer and more enjoyable.
Residents are invited to attend the following session and share ideas to achieve this objective, as follows:
Wednesday, Mar. 1, 2017
6:30 to 8:30 p.m. (presentation at 7 p.m.)
Cole Harbour Place (Westphal Room)
For residents unable to attend the session in person, project information and a survey will be posted on Shape Your City beginning on Thursday, Mar. 2. All residents are invited to share their thoughts and vision for the Forest Hills Parkway.
