Halifax District RCMP is thanking Lower Sackville residents for their help locating a teen male on a vandalism spree in a residential area.
Shortly after 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday evening, Halifax District RCMP received multiple calls of a male attempting to enter vehicles parked in driveways. Callers also reported a damaged windshield to a vehicle while another had it’s interior set on fire.
Police arrived on-scene and were assisted by RCMP Police Dog Services and Halifax Regional Police K-9 Unit. A search for the suspect led to Sackville High School where it appeared entry had been gained. While outside of the school, police dispatch received a call from an alarm company of an intrusion alarm at the school. The suspect attempted to flee from the school which resulted in police arresting the male without incident as he exited the school.
A 17-year-old male faces the following charges:

Two counts of failing to comply with undertaking

Arson
-
Mischief
-
Attempted theft of vehicle
-
break, enter and theft
The male was remanded in to custody where he will return to Youth Court on February 1, 2017.
