Purcell’s Cove residents turn out to oppose water/sewage extension

Purcell's Cove residents who are against extending municipal water and sewage service to their area were told in February that the engineering costs could be up to $15 million dollars. I heard from a group of residents before the February meeting who all said they are strongly against the development options, especially an option that would put a pipeline through the Williams Lake backlands. They also felt another option to put a pipe under the Northwest Arm to a pumping station in the South End would not help and would cause backlash from people in the South End. The morning after the meeting I heard resident Johanna Luhn speaking about some of their concerns. ...
