Lower Sackville
A quick response from the RCMP and the actions of citizens helped nab thieves following break-and-enter into a residence and motor vehicle theft.
On Saturday, January 14 at approximately 2:30 a.m. police responded to a complaint of a possible motor vehicle collision on Cobequid Rd. Police arrived swiftly and saw a man holding a television and running from the vehicle involved in the collision. Citizens reported someone matching the suspect’s description, which helped police locate and arrest two men in a nearby apartment building.
The investigation revealed that the 2016 Cadillac SRX was stolen from a vacant home in Lower Sackville. The residence was broken into and several other items were stolen as well, including a significant amount of jewellery, a television and money. Police have recovered some of the items and are asking for the public’s help to locate three older one thousand dollar bills that were taken.
21-year-old Trisden Shelby McNeille has been charged with the following offences:
· Break-and-Enter into residence
· 2 counts of Mischief Under $5,000
· Mischief Over $5,000
· Theft of a Motor vehicle
· Possession of Property Obtained By Crime Over $5,000
· 2 counts of Possession of Property Obtained By Crime Under $5,000
· 6 counts of Breach of Probation
19-year-old Christopher Adkins has been charged with the following offences:
· Break-and-Enter into a Residence
· Theft of a Motor Vehicle
· 2 counts of Mischief Under $5,000
· Mischief Over $5,000
· Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
· 2 counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
Both men appeared in Dartmouth Provincial Court on Monday. McNeille was remanded in to custody while Adkins has been released with conditions. Both men will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court later today to answer the charges.
