Quinpool Road Shops Come Together In New Online Store

Release:

As a result of recent retail closures and restrictions, the Quinpool Road Mainstreet District Association was pressed to do something meaningful and quickly to assist and support their over 120 member businesses struggling under such difficult circumstances. The Association mobilized quickly, and within a week, has built an online version of the popular shopping district which will aggregate Quinpool’s shops and services on a single portal at www.quinpool.shop.

The site, which launched today, already includes branded links to the many Quinpool businesses which currently offer some or all of their products and services online. These shops, services, and restaurants have modified their operations to meet current conditions, allowing for delivery or safe pickup procedures in accordance with current government regulations around COVID-19 safety protocols.

The initiative, being introduced to Association members today, will also assist Quinpool businesses currently lacking online shopping capability to quickly create and launch their own eCommerce online shop at no charge, which will then be added to the new online version of Quinpool Road. New shops will be added to the “street” and promoted as they become available, and each new online shop can be accessed, updated, and promoted by the individual shop owner. The service is provided at no charge to any business member of the Quinpool Road Mainstreet District Association.

The Association plans to aggressively market the new online shopping destination through social media, paid media, and editorial coverage to collectively promote member businesses with the key message: Stay Home, We’re Open, allowing consumers to support their favourite Quinpool businesses, and discover new ones while shopping safely during the new reality under COVID-19 restrictions.

The online program was conceived and developed by longtime Quinpool Roaders, Burke & Burke boutique marketing firm, partnered with Quinpool-based web developers, immediaC.

The Quinpool Road Mainstreet District Association was formed as a business improvement initiative in February, 2001 to actively promote and develop the potential of the Quinpool Road area. The Association represents an eclectic mix of over 120 shops, restaurants, and services within the popular central Halifax district.
