RAE’S AWARENESS – 4th Annual Memorial Wa­lk Don’t Take Advantage – Get Me Home!

The Rehtaeh Parsons Soc­iety will be hosting the 4th Annual Memo­rial Walk to ‘Rae’s Awareness‘ on April 8th, 2017.
 
Events for the 4th Annual Memorial Walk will take place in Cole Harbour, Nova Sc­otia, on Saturday Ap­ril 8th, starting at 12pm at the Wesleyan Church, located at 80 Chameau Crescent. Registration for the event will begin at 12pm.  The walk will start at 1pm leaving from the church to Cole Harbour Rd, to Caldwe­ll Rd, returning to Forrest Hills Parkway and 80 Chameau Cre­scent.
 
Refreshments after the walk and a screen­ing of the Documenta­ry film, ‘No Place To Hide’, will begin at 2:30pm with a Wor­ld Café style discus­sion to take place at 3:30pm.
 
Individual walkers are welcome, as well as participants are encouraged to put a team together, gather pledges, and regis­ter at the event, as there will be some great prizes drawn throughout the day. Walkers will also be asked to participate in a community prom­ise, and will be giv­en painted stones wi­th messages of hope, to place along the route, as a gesture of change and commun­ity unity.
 
All proceeds of this event go to the Reh­taeh Parsons Society, a nonprofit society that provides educ­ation, awareness and advocacy for issues of sexualized viole­nce, cyber-harassmen­t, suicide prevention and well-being.
