The Rehtaeh Parsons Society will be hosting the 4th Annual Memorial Walk to ‘Rae’s Awareness‘ on April 8th, 2017.
Events for the 4th Annual Memorial Walk will take place in Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia, on Saturday April 8th, starting at 12pm at the Wesleyan Church, located at 80 Chameau Crescent. Registration for the event will begin at 12pm. The walk will start at 1pm leaving from the church to Cole Harbour Rd, to Caldwell Rd, returning to Forrest Hills Parkway and 80 Chameau Crescent.
Refreshments after the walk and a screening of the Documentary film, ‘No Place To Hide’, will begin at 2:30pm with a World Café style discussion to take place at 3:30pm.
Individual walkers are welcome, as well as participants are encouraged to put a team together, gather pledges, and register at the event, as there will be some great prizes drawn throughout the day. Walkers will also be asked to participate in a community promise, and will be given painted stones with messages of hope, to place along the route, as a gesture of change and community unity.
All proceeds of this event go to the Rehtaeh Parsons Society, a nonprofit society that provides education, awareness and advocacy for issues of sexualized violence, cyber-harassment, suicide prevention and well-being.
Information for the event can be found on its Facebook Event page. Please come out and join us and ‘Rae’s Awareness!’
