RCMP advising of lost taser cartridge in wooded area

RCMP release:

On April 28, while conducting an investigation in Musquodoboit Harbour, an RCMP officer lost a Taser 7 cartridge.

RCMP Police Dog Services returned to a wooded area along Rookery Way to conduct an extensive search for the black cartridge, but it wasn’t located.

The cartridge was properly secured; however, a snap came loose causing the cartridge to fall out of its holster.

The cartridge is unusable and poses no threat to the public.

Anyone who may’ve found the cartridge is asked to contact RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment at 902-490-5020. To offer an anonymous tip, call Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers, toll-free, at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submit a secure web tip at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca, or use the P3 Tips App.

In Nova Scotia, it’s prohibited by law for members of the general public to possess police-issued equipment, as outlined in the Nova Scotia Police Identity Management Act.
