RCMP and DNR conduct joint snowmobile patrols, Nutby Mountain, N.S.

On Saturday, February 28, 2015, Colchester District RCMP teamed up with Department of Natural Resources Officers to conduct snowmobile patrols on the trails in Nutby Mountain, Colchester County.

These patrols will be continuing in various parts of the country throughout the winter months in effort to prevent instances of impaired driving and ensure the trails remain safe for everyone.

Winter is a great season to enjoy the Nova Scotia outdoors and fresh air. RCMP would like to remind snowmobilers to utilize proper equipment and to check the ever changing weather conditions before heading out for a day on the trails. Further, the public is reminded that there is zero tolerance for instances of impaired driving on snowmobiles (and off highway vehicles) with the fines and penalties associated to such offences being the same as impaired driving in a motor vehicle on the road.
