RCMP Eastern Traffic Services have arrested a Pictou County man for Impaired Driving who was driving over 150 km/hr.
On Friday February 7th at approximately 2:30 p.m., RCMP Eastern Traffic Services stopped a man for Stunting who was on his way to pick up his children from school.
The 47-year-old man exhibited signs of impairment and was subsequently arrested for Impaired Driving. He provided samples of his breath that were almost three times the legal limit. RCMP contacted the school who made alternate arrangements for the kids to be picked up by someone else.
The man is facing several charges including Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle over 80 mg% and Stunting, under the Motor Vehicle Act. He will appear in Provincial Court in Pictou on April 7th, 2014 to answer to the charges.
Impaired Driving is one of the leading causes of serious injury and fatal collisions in Nova Scotia. If you suspect someone is impaired while operating a motor vehicle please call 911 immediately. A vehicle includes automobiles, all-terrain vehicles, snowmobiles, vessels and aircraft.
