RCMP arrested four people after the driver of a stolen vehicle attempted to evade police.
At 11 p.m. last night an RCMP officer observed a vehicle, matching the description of a car reported stolen earlier in the evening, back into a Caldwell Road parking lot.
When the officer turned his vehicle around to further investigate, the suspect vehicle left the area at a high rate of speed without its taillights on. The car was later found in a ditch on Cow Bay Rd. Police set up a containment area and called in police dog services.
RCMP arrested one suspect after a citizen notified police that he had a man detained in his backyard. The second male was apprehended a short time later when he attempted to get a taxi out of the area. Police located two females believed passengers in the vehicle.
An 18-year-old male is facing charges including Flight from Police, Possession of Stolen Property over $5000, and Breach of Probation. The second 18-year-old male faces charges of Trespass by Night and a Breach charge. They are currently in police custody and will be appearing in Dartmouth Provincial court today. A 16-year-old female faces a charge of breaching the conditions of a court order. The 14-year-old female was released without charges.
