RCMP apprehend three drivers under the influence of alcohol within 12 hours

Halifax District RCMP arrested two drivers for impaired driving and issued another driver a seven-day suspension within a 12-hour period in the evening of June 30 and early morning of July 1, 2019.

At approximately 5 p.m. ​ on June 30, Halifax District RCMP conducted a traffic stop on Forest Hills Pky. in Cole Harbour. The 55-year-old male driver from Dartmouth was issued a seven-day suspension following a Roadside Screening Device Test.

At approximately 11 p.m. ​ on the same evening, RCMP attended a business on Cow Bay Rd. following a 911 call of an impaired driver.​ A 42-year-old male from Eastern Passage exhibited signs of impairment and was arrested for impaired driving.​ He faces charges of Impaired Operation (by Drug) of a Conveyance. ​ He is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on December 18, 2019.

At 4 a.m. on July 1, the RCMP conducted a traffic stop on Cole Harbour Rd. Investigation at the scene resulted in the 33-year-old male driver from Cole Harbour being arrested for impaired driving.​ He faces charges of Impaired Operation (by Alcohol) of a Conveyance and Impaired Operation (by Alcohol) of a Conveyance with a Blood Alcohol Limit Over​ 80​ mg% and is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on August 28, 2019.
