Monday, October 18th, 2010, Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM)… Members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) stopped a vehicle for failing to stop at a red light just before 3:00 AM on Sunday, October 17, 2010 in Cole Harbour, NS. Members observed the vehicle traveling through a red light at the intersection of Forest Hill Drive and Cole Harbour Road.
RCMP members observed a smell of alcohol on the driver. He gave readings of almost twice the legal limit. Further investigation revealed the driver was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear on a previous impaired driving charge. The driver was arrested without incident.
A 25-year old male will be appearing in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date to answer to charges of impaired driving. Further charges may be pending at that time.
