At approximately 2:25 a.m. this morning, a Halifax District RCMP officer was patrolling the area of Lucasville Road in an attempt to locate a vehicle involved in a theft of gas that had occurred at the intersection of the Bedford Highway and Hammonds Plains Road.
The officer observed a grey Dodge Neon matching the suspect vehicle description travelling in the opposite direction.  The officer turned around and attempted to stop the vehicle, but it fled from police.  The Neon was located minutes later on Old Service Road 101.  The vehicle had become stuck in the mud and the occupants fled on foot into the woods.  The HRP K9 Unit was called in to assist in tracking the three suspects who were arrested.
