RCMP arrest suspects after gas and go in Hammonds Plains

 

March 19, 2012, Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) . . . Police arrested three suspects after a gas and go in Hammonds Plains.  Police located the vehicle they were driving after it became stuck on a muddy road.
 
At approximately 2:25 a.m. this morning, a Halifax District RCMP officer was patrolling the area of Lucasville Road in an attempt to locate a vehicle involved in a theft of gas that had occurred at the intersection of the Bedford Highway and Hammonds Plains Road.
 
The officer observed a grey Dodge Neon matching the suspect vehicle description travelling in the opposite direction.  The officer turned around and attempted to stop the vehicle, but it fled from police.  The Neon was located minutes later on Old Service Road 101.  The vehicle had become stuck in the mud and the occupants fled on foot into the woods.  The HRP K9 Unit was called in to assist in tracking the three suspects who were arrested.
 
A 16-year-old male from Beaver Bank was issued a Summary Offence Ticket for Underage Drinking.  A 19-year-old male from Lower Sackville spent the night in cells for public intoxication, and an 18-year-old male from Middle Sackville is facing charges of Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Flight from Police.  The 18-year-old was a revoked driver and will be appearing in Dartmouth Provincial Court on May 9, 2012 to answer to the charges.  The vehicle involved has been seized.
