Lunenburg District RCMP have arrested a woman for impaired driving following a traffic stop.

Shortly after 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Lunenburg RCMP stopped a female motorist for speeding in front of Chester’s elementary and middle schools.

At that time, students were being dismissed from school for the day.

Once pulled over, the investigating officer observed signs of impairment and arrested her for impaired driving. The female was later administered a Breathalyzer test that registered a reading two and half times the legal limit. The 58-year-old woman from Halifax will appear in Bridgewater court on November 12th, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. for charges of Impaired Driving and Driving Over the Legal Limit.

RCMP members will remain visible in these school zones throughout the county to ensure motorists slow down for the safety of all the children.
