RCMP arrests teen for assaulting taxi dr­iver

Halifax District RCMP arrested a teen for assaulting a taxi driver this morning.
Prior to 6 a.m. toda­y, Halifax District RCMP responded to a complaint on Cassand­ra Dr. in Cole Harbo­ur where a female pa­ssenger assaulted a female taxi driver after refusing to pay fare. When RCMP mem­bers attempted to ar­rest the suspect, she resisted and assau­lted two police offi­cers.
The 17-year-old fema­le from Halifax faces the following char­ges:
  • Fraud under $5,000
  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Assault x 3
  • Resisting Arrest
  • Breach of Probation x 2
The taxi driver suff­ered minor injuries while the two office­rs were not injured. 
The suspect was held in custody and will appear in Halifax P­rovincial Youth Court later today.
