Halifax District RCMP arrested a teen for assaulting a taxi driver this morning.
Prior to 6 a.m. today, Halifax District RCMP responded to a complaint on Cassandra Dr. in Cole Harbour where a female passenger assaulted a female taxi driver after refusing to pay fare. When RCMP members attempted to arrest the suspect, she resisted and assaulted two police officers.
The 17-year-old female from Halifax faces the following charges:
- Fraud under $5,000
- Assault with a Weapon
- Assault x 3
- Resisting Arrest
- Breach of Probation x 2
The taxi driver suffered minor injuries while the two officers were not injured.
The suspect was held in custody and will appear in Halifax Provincial Youth Court later today.
