RCMP assist in rescue of hiker in medical distress, Hubley, N.S.

Tantallon RCMP respond to hiker in medical distress in Hubley. At approximately 4 p.m., RCMP and EHS received a 911 call to assist a young female hiking with a group form the Environmental Education Centre in the Hubley area.

At approximately 4 p.m., RCMP and EHS received a 911 call to assist a young female hiking with a group form the Environmental Education Centre in the Hubley area.

A 20-year-old female was reported to be in medical distress requiring assistance to be removed from the wooded area she was hiking in.

At approximately 5:30 p.m., Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) deployed Air Search and Rescue who were able to extract the female. She was taken to Shearwater Canadian Forces Base where EHS transported her to hospital.

The remaining group of hikers were able to return to their canoes and hike out to their
pick-up point.
