RCMP assist off-road ing dad in a sticky situation – Lower Sackville

You just never know what you day will look like…

Two members of Halifax District RCMP went for an impromptu hike during their day shift on September 3.

At 2:21 p.m., Lower Sackville RCMP responded to a complaint that a man who had gone off-roading in his SUV with his two young children in the woods behind the Kingswood North subdivision. He had become stuck, and he needed assistance.

The two members who responded were able to drive about one kilometre down the trail where the man was stuck, and had to walk the remaining two kilometres over hilly, rocky terrain. Once they found the man and his children, ages 18 mos and 3 1/2 years, the members assisted the man by carrying one child out. The family was then driven home by the RCMP officers.

Dad’s SUV was left for him to retrieve later.
