RCMP Barrington investigate structure fire, Barrington Passage, N.S.

RCMP Barrington is investigating a fire that occurred earlier this afternoon.

At approximately 12:50 p.m., RCMP, Island and Barrington Fire Department and Emergency Health Services (EHS) responded to a structure fire on Highway 3 in Barrington Passage.

Preliminary investigation revealed the fire occurred in a mobile home which was not occupied but was under construction. A 69-year-old man from Barrington Passage sustained serious burn injuries and was airlifted via LifeFlight to the QEII Hospital for further treatment.

The RCMP and Fire Department are continuing their investigation into the cause of this fire.
