RCMP charge driver for stunting, Halifax, N.S.

RCMP Metro Traffic Services have charged a man for Stunting in Lower Sackville.

Yesterday at 8:12 p.m., RCMP observed a vehicle traveling at a speed of 122 km/h in a 50 km/h zone on Sackville Drive.

The 19-year-old driver has been immediately suspended from driving for a minimum period of one week. His vehicle was seized. Upon conviction, the driver also faces a fine of $2412.41 and an automatic six points will be assigned to his drivers’s record. Also of note, there was a female passenger and young infant in the vehicle at the time of the offence.

Stunting can be defined as traveling more than 50km/h over the posted speed limit. The RCMP take these matters seriously and deem them to be one of the most dangerous forms of aggressive driving. The RCMP will continue to target this form of driving to prevent serious injury and fatal collisions and to help keep Nova Scotia’s roadways safe.
