Updated: RCMP charge Impaired Driver twice

May 23, 2013, Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) . . . RCMP have charged a man for Impaired Driving in Lower Sackville.
On May 21st, a witness at the Petro-Can observed and reported an impaired driver.  At 12:36 p.m.,  RCMP located the vehicle on Hallmark Drive and the driver was arrested for Impaired Driving.  Breath samples were obtained with readings that were more than three times the legal limit of 80 mg%

Last night, shortly before 6:30 p.m., RCMP received a driving complaint on Hartford Drive.  Police located the vehicle and observed the driver turning into a residence on Hallmark Drive. A 62-year-old male was arrested for Impaired Driving and had over three times the blood alcohol legal limit.  This was his second Impaired Driving charge in two days. The Lower Sackville man will be appearing in Dartmouth Provincial Court on July 17th to answer to the charges.
The RCMP is committed to continuing educational and enforcement efforts under the Road Safety Strategy 2015 in order to reduce any unnecessary injuries and deaths on our roadways. We encourage the public to take part in this initiative by calling police with information on impaired drivers or if they suspect an impaired driver on the road to call 911 immediately and provide a license number if possible.
