RCMP charge male with assault and forcible confinement, Cole Harbour, N.S.

Halifax District received a complaint from a female that on Tuesday, August 26th she had been held against her will and assaulted in a residence in Eastern Passage.

At approximately 8 p.m. RCMP received a complaint from an 22-year-old female that she had been confined for a period of time in a residence in Eastern Passage. While confined she was assaulted and property was extorted from her. She did not receive any injuries during the assault.

A 25-year-old male was later arrested without incident. He has been released from custody and is expected to appear in Dartmouth Provincial court on October 8th, 2014 to face charges.

The accused and the female victim are known to one another.

The investigation is continuing.
