RCMP arrested one man following drug search of a home.
On May 30th at approximately 5:30 p.m., Baddeck RCMP executed a search warrant on a residence on Old Margaree Road.
A resident of the home, a 49-year-old man, was arrested on scene without incident.
The search of the home resulted in the seizure of marijuana, money, items related to drug trafficking, drug paraphernalia and one hunting rifle.
The man is facing charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act for Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, Trafficking Marijuana and one Criminal Code charge of Unsafe storage of a firearm. The man was later released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in Baddeck Provincial Court in September.
This matter remains under investigation.
