While on patrol on Hwy 101 near New Minas, Southwest Nova RCMP Traffic Services encountered a car driving eastbound erratically.
The RCMP member pulled the vehicle over and the lone occupant of the vehicle, a 32-year-old male from Auburn, displayed signs of impairment.
He was arrested and consented to providing breath samples that revealed readings four times the legal limit.
“Thankfully we do not often see impaired readings this high,” says Cpl. Michael Carter, Southwest Nova Traffic Services. “Removing this driver from the road greatly enhanced public safety this past weekend.”
The driver was later released from custody to appear in Kentville Provincial Court on April 23, 2019 on charges of Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Impaired Operation over 80 mg.
