RCMP charge man for drug trafficking, Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM), N.S.

RCMP have charged a man with drug offences after a search in Middle Sackville.

Yesterday, shortly after 8:00 p.m., members of the RCMP Street Crime Enforcement Unit conducted a traffic stop on Wagner Drive.

Police arrested the driver and seized a quantity of marijuana, cash, knife and other drug related property. Later that evening, police executed a search warrant at a residence on Sackville Drive. Officers located a loaded 12-gauge shotgun, ammunition, and a variety of other weapons including an extendable baton, bear spray, machete and knives. Police also seized a quantity of prescription drugs, hash oil, cocaine and marijuana.

A 25-year-old man from Middle Sackville is facing numerous charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act including Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and Production of Marijuana. He could also be facing weapons charges under the Criminal Code. He is currently in police custody and will be appearing in Dartmouth Provincial Court today.
