RCMP charge man for a hit and run collision between a car and pedestrian.
At approximately 9:00 p.m. on August 5, 2015, RCMP, EHS paramedics and Port Hastings Volunteer Fire Department responded to a report of a hit and run collision involving a 65-year-old male pedestrian.
Preliminary investigation determined that the pedestrian was struck as he was crossing Highway 4. The vehicle did not stop after the collision and continued eastbound towards Port Hawkesbury.
On August 9, 2015, Inverness County District RCMP arrested 27-year-old Tyson MacDonald from Port Hood. He has been charged with Failure to Stop at the Scene of an Accident and Dangerous Driving and will be appearing in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court on September 28, 2015.
