RCMP charge man for trafficking marijuana, Ingonish, N.S.

Ingonish Beach RCMP charge local area man with drug trafficking and possession of Marijuana.

On May 10th, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Ingonish RCMP stopped a vehicle for exceeding the speed limit in Ingonish.

As a result of the stop, RCMP located marijuana and open liquor in the vehicle and arrested a 25-year- old Ingonish resident. The investigation continued with a search of the man’s home that resulted in additional marijuana being located along with other drug trafficking evidence.

The man is facing drug trafficking and possession charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. He is also facing a charge of Illegal Possession of Alcohol under the Liquor Control Act. He has been released from police custody and will be appearing in Ingonish Provincial Court at a later date.

The investigation is continuing.

Those who traffic in illicit drugs destroy lives, homes, and communities. The RCMP remains fully committed to enforcing laws against illicit drugs to their fullest extent.
