RCMP charge several people for drug trafficking, Victoria County, N.S.

RCMP have several people for drug trafficking after searches in Ingonish, Baddeck and South Haven.

On Friday, a 44-year old male from Sydney Mines is facing charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act for Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking after a traffic stop in Baddeck.

He has been released from police custody and will be appearing in Baddeck Provincial Court on May 26th.

In another matter, Baddeck RCMP executed a CDSA warrant in South Haven seizing a large quantity of marijuana and several firearms. A 53-year-old male is facing charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act for Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking. A 54-year-old male from the Baddeck area is facing charges of Unauthorized Possession of Firearms While Being Prohibited. Both men have been released from police custody and will be appearing in Baddeck Provincial Court on May 26th , 2014.

On Saturday, Ingonish RCMP conducted a traffic stop and seized marijuana. Two search warrants were also executed in Ingonish. From these searches, officers seized marijuana plants, marijuana, hash, cash and a large amount of prescription pills.

Two males, 28 and 29, and two females, ages 28 and 54, are facing charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act for Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking. They have been released from police custody and will be appearing in Ingonish Provincial Court on June 12th, 2014.
