RCMP charge two men for illegal tobacco, West Northfield, N.S.

RCMP have charged a man for possession of illegal cigarettes in West Northfield.

The South Shore Integrated Street Crime Unit, with the assistance of the Bridgewater Police Service General Investigation Section, executed a search warrant at a residence and seized approximately 2,400 illegal cigarettes.

William Oswald Russell, 62, faces several charges under the Excise Act including Selling and Possessing Illegal Cigarettes. He is scheduled to appear in Bridgewater Provincial Court today, August 15th, 2013.

Robert Patrick Murphy, 32, of Upper Branch, Lunenburg County also faces several charges under the Excise Act including Selling and Possessing Illegal Cigarettes. Robert Murphy was found in possession of approximately 1,200 illegal cigarettes during the course of the investigation. He was arrested and released later on a Promise to Appear. He is scheduled to appear in Bridgewater Provincial Court on October 30th, 2013.
