At approximately 6:50 a.m. yesterday, Halifax District RCMP responded to a complaint of a trespasser in the backyard of a home on Taylor Rd.

Preliminary investigation determined the owner of the home returned from a run and discovered a gym bag on the ground in his backyard.

He then observed a male youth walking toward him who identified himself and said he wanted the bag and would leave. The homeowner told the youth he was getting his phone at which point the trespasser ran from the property without incident.

It was later determined that the bag contained a wallet with personal identification, money, marijuana, cocaine and drug paraphernalia. The 17-year-old suspect from Kinsac was apprehended by police later in the day and is facing drug related charges. He will be appearing in Halifax Youth Court at a later date.
