RCMP Investigate Armed Robbery – Lower Sackville

At approximately 9:00 p.m. on March 13, 2016, a 49-year-old woman was walking on a wooded trail near 99 Cobequid Road when she was robbed of her handbag. The male suspect brandished a knife and the female received minor injuries during the struggle. The woman was treated and later released from the Cobequid Health Centre.

The suspect fled the scene with the woman’s handbag. He is described as a white man, 18 to 20 years of age, slim build, 5’8″ tall, with a beard, wearing a dark coloured hoodie and jeans.

Calls to Crime Stoppers are not taped or traced and if police make an arrest and lay charges based on a tip, callers qualify for a cash award.

The investigation is ongoing and now being led by the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division.
