RCMP investigate bomb threat involving school buses, Baddeck, N.S.

Victoria County RCMP is investigating a report of a bomb threat received this afternoon involving school buses in Baddeck.

At approximately 1:55 p.m., Victoria County RCMP received a call indicating that a bomb threat had been received at Baddeck Academy, a primary to grade 12 school.

The threat focused on school buses isolated away from the school in a private parking lot. RCMP have been liaising with the school to have the students transported home by their parents. School buses are currently contained in an area and will be searched by an RCMP Police Dog. The investigation is continuing.

Victoria County RCMP are asking anyone who has information on the incident to call the Baddeck Detachment at (902) 295-2350 or Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), texting TIP202 + your message to ‘CRIMES’ (274637) or by Secure Web Tips at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca. Calls to Crime Stoppers are not taped or traced and if police make an arrest and lay charges based on a tip, callers qualify for a cash reward from $50 – $2000.
