RCMP are investigating a death after a fire in Cole Harbour.

This morning, approximately 6:36 a.m., RCMP and Halifax Regional Fire Services responded to a structure fire on Nestor Crescent.

Halifax Fire Services removed a man from the residence but sadly he died at the scene. The 67-year-old man’s name is not being released at this time pending notification to family.

The Medical Examiner’s office has been called in to assist. The matter remains under investigation by police and fire officials. Emergency vehicles are still on scene but the street is open to traffic.
