RCMP investigate fatal vehicle/pedestrian collision, Prospect, N.S.

Halifax District RCMP responded to a fatal vehicle/pedestrian collision.

On Monday, January 12th, at approximately 6:10 p.m., Halifax District RCMP, Halifax Fire and Emergency Health Services attended the scene of a fatal motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian at the corner of Mills Road and Prospect Road.

Preliminary investigation determined a 70-year-old man from Prospect was run over by a tractor trailer as the 61-year-old driver from Belmont turned onto Mills Road off of Prospect Road. The trailer was not attached at that time.

The investigation into the cause of the collision is continuing. An RCMP traffic analyst has been called to assist with the investigation.
