Colchester District RCMP are investigating a break, enter and theft that occurred at a Truro area hotel over the past weekend.
At approximately 4:00 a.m. on Saturday October 10, Colchester District RCMP responded to a complaint of a break, enter and theft at the Comfort Inn in Lower Truro.
A preliminary investigation has determined that a suspect entered one of the rooms through an unlocked exterior door. When confronted by the lone occupant of the hotel room, the suspect struck the victim and fled with a quantity of cash.
The victim, a 58-year-old female from Antigonish, suffered minor injuries to her face and foot.
The suspect is described as a male, 5’11’, with light tanned skin.
At this point, Colchester District RCMP believe that this incident was a crime of opportunity, and the investigation is continuing.
