Officers from Yarmouth RCMP and Yarmouth Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SCEU) are investigating a violent robbery and an assault that left a 46-year-old man injured.
On Sunday morning at 12:15 a.m.
, RCMP responded to a robbery on Tooker Street in Yarmouth. Upon arrival, officers located the victim who had been assaulted with a weapon. The victim from Yarmouth was transported to Yarmouth Regional Hospital where he was treated for serious injuries and later released.
Six men were arrested by RCMP and three were released without charges. Ronald Dempsey Higby, 18, Desi Thomas Sisco, 21 and Trevor Joseph Jacquard, 22, all from Yarmouth, have been charged with several offences including Robbery and Assault Causing Bodily Harm. The men will appear in Yarmouth Provincial Court this morning. The victim and suspects were known to each other, this was not a random incident. The investigation is continuing.
