RCMP Investigate Suspicious Person – Lower Sackville

[Information Published via RCMP Release]
Halifax District RCMP is looking for a suspicious person after a female driver approached school children twice this morning at two different locations.
At approximately 7:50 a.m., a vehicle stopped near the corner of MacDougall Dr. and Prince St. in Lower Sackville with its rear driver’s side door open.  The female driver, and lone occupant of the vehicle, was observed by a passerby talking to a female youth who was walking on the sidewalk in the direction of A.J. Smeltzer Junior High.  The interaction gave the passerby the impression that the driver was asking the youth to get into the vehicle.  The youth continued to walk down the sidewalk and the vehicle drove away.
At approximately 8:15 a.m., a female student reported being approached by a female driver at the corner of Stokil Dr. and Nordic Cres. near Leslie Thomas Junior High in Lower Sackville.  The student reported that on her way to school, the vehicle pulled up next to her and rolled down the rear passenger side window. The female driver then spoke to the student over her shoulder, possibly saying “get in the car” or “come on, get a drive.”  The student refused and continued on to school.
The woman driver in both incidents is described as having black or dark brown hair with tight curls, and was wearing large sunglasses.  The vehicle is described as a newer-model dark grey or black four-door sedan, possibly a Toyota Corolla or Honda Civic.
Police are asking anyone with information about these incidents or the suspect to call Halifax District RCMP or Halifax Regional Police at (902) 490-5020 or Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
