RCMP investigated nine alcohol-related driving incidents last weekend

Halifax District RCMP investigated nine alcohol-related incidents between​ October 18​ and​ October 21. Police would like to thank the public who called to report three of the incidents.

On October 18, RCMP arrested three men during separate traffic stops. At 4:50 p.m., a 34-year-old man from Porters Lake was arrested on Hwy.7 in Lake Echo. He faces charges of Impaired Operation of a Conveyance and Refusal to Comply with Demand. He is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on November 27. At​ 6:15​ p.m. a​ 32-year-old man from Halifax was arrested on Peggy’s Cove Rd. He is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on November 26. At 9:20 p.m., a 70-year-old man from East Preston was arrested on Churchill Terr. in North Preston. He is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on December 4. The 32-year-old and 70-year-old men face charges of Impaired Operation (by Alcohol) of a Conveyance and Impaired Operation of a Conveyance with a Blood Alcohol Concentration that is equal to or exceeds​ 80​ mg%.

On October 19 at 12:20 p.m., RCMP conducted a traffic stop on Cow Bay Rd. in Eastern Passage and arrested a​ 36–year-old man from Eastern Passage. Later, at 11:15 p.m., a 17–year-old man from​ Porters Lake​ was also arrested at a traffic stop on Hwy. 7 in Smiths Settlement. Both men were issued a seven-day suspension following a Roadside Screening Device Test.

On October 20, RCMP located three other drivers for alcohol-related incidents. At 3:30 a.m., a​ 23–year-old man from Eastern Passage, was stopped on Hwy. 103 in Upper Tantallon and was issued a seven-day suspension following a Roadside Screening Device Test. At 5:50 p.m. the same day, a 31-year-old driver from Dartmouth was arrested on Baker Dr. in Dartmouth. He is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on November 27. At 11:45 p.m., a​ 45-year-old​ man from Eastern Passage was arrested on Dawn Rd. in Dartmouth. He is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on November 27. The two men arrested face charges of Impaired Operation of a Conveyance and Impaired Operation of a Conveyance with a Blood Alcohol Concentration equal to or exceeds​ 80​ mg%.

On October 21 at 12:20 a.m, RCMP responded to a possible impaired driver on Hwy. 107 in Lake Echo. Police arrested a​ 36-year-old man from Head of Jeddore. He faces charges of Impaired Operation (by Alcohol) of a Conveyance and Refusal to Comply with Demand. He is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on October 22.
